We have a vision to build a church that is active in advancing God’s kingdom in the town of Dover, declaring and demonstrating the good news of God’s grace in many practical ways, making its presence felt by transforming everything we touch into something better.
We want to be a church that is empowered and led by the Holy Spirit and experience God at work in and through us in a powerful way. We firmly believe that signs, wonders and miracles accompanying the gospel still exist today and should be expected as much now as when Jesus walked the earth.
We need to be a church that sees the mission and message of Jesus as an everyday action and so expect constant growth in numbers without compromising quality as many experience the grace of God and are saved and then added into the church family.
We want to be a church full of people who are passionate, committed and single-minded when it comes to following Christ and livinggrace-fuelled lives for him. Through that we are truly different from the world around us.
- To live as Jesus lived
- To love as Jesus loved
- To serve as Jesus served
So we will strive to build a culture where anyone can join us and be welcomed into the church family and where these six following characteristics are seen by all who come and meet with us.
- Dealing with brokenness
- No one stands alone
To build this culture into the life of the church we will have to be intentional and shaped by God.
Jesus was once asked what the greatest act of loving God was. This is how Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’”
So here at The Lighthouse Church we’ve taken this to heart and we aim to do this. We can sum it up like this:
